Privacy policy

What we collect

Two forms on this site collect personal information. Nothing else on the site does.

• The donate form — your name, an email address or phone number, and the amount you chose.
• The volunteer form — your name, email address, city, the pillar you picked, and your message.

Our web server also keeps ordinary request logs: IP address, browser, the pages requested and when. Every website keeps these. We use them to keep the site running and to spot abuse.

Why we collect it

• To reply to you.
• To match a donation to the person who made it.
• To tell you which programme your donation paid for, and what changed.

We do not use it for anything else.

What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent or trade your details.
• We do not pass your email address to other organisations.
• We do not send bulk marketing. If we ever start a newsletter it will be something you opt into, and every message will carry a way to stop it.

Payments

No payment gateway is connected to this site. Donations are made by UPI or direct bank transfer, from your own bank or UPI app to ours. That means we never see, handle or store your card number, UPI PIN or bank login.

The only payment information we hold is the amount you told us you intended to give, and whatever appears on our own bank statement. When a payment gateway is added, this section will be rewritten before it goes live.

Cookies

This site sets two cookies, both necessary for it to work:

• A session cookie, so the site remembers your visit as you move between pages.
• A security token, which stops another website from submitting our forms on your behalf.

There is no advertising, analytics or tracking on this site. If that ever changes, this page will say so before it does.

Photographs

We publish photographs of our work. They show people, and sometimes children, and are taken at public events, camps and classes. Some have also appeared in local newspapers.

If you or your child appears in a photograph on this site and you would like it removed, email us and we will take it down. You do not have to give a reason.

How long we keep it, and your say over it

We keep donation and volunteer records for as long as we need them for our accounts and our reporting to donors, and for any period Indian law requires us to.

You can ask us at any time to tell you what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Email us and we will act on it.

Other websites

Where this site links to another organisation, that site has its own privacy policy and we are not responsible for it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date above shows when it last changed.
